Site Preparation
Breaking Ground the Right Way
Mass grading is where the vision takes shape — precise, efficient site preparation from day one.

Where the Vision Takes Shape
Site preparation is the most critical phase of any construction project. Every building, road, and utility that follows depends on what happens during clearing and grading. Get it wrong, and you pay for it through the entire project.
LRS handles full-scope site preparation — from initial clearing and stripping through mass grading, rock excavation, and soil stabilization. Every cut and fill is GPS-guided, verified in real-time, and documented for quality assurance.
Whether it’s a 4-acre commercial pad or a 50-acre campus expansion, our fleet of GPS-equipped excavators and dozers moves earth with precision that traditional methods can’t match.

How It Works
Our Site Preparation Process
01
Clearing & Stripping
Trees, stumps, topsoil, and vegetation removed from the work area. Topsoil is stockpiled on-site for reuse during final restoration — nothing wasted.
02
Erosion Controls
SWPPP-compliant BMPs installed before any grading begins — silt fence, construction entrances, and sediment controls in place from day one.
03
Mass Grading
GPS-guided bulk earthwork — moving thousands of cubic yards with Trimble machine control. Every blade and bucket follows the 3D design model in real-time.
04
Rock Excavation
When you hit rock, we handle it. Hydraulic hammers, ripping, and controlled removal — with on-site crushing available to recycle rock into usable aggregate.
05
Soil Stabilization
Weak soils, high water tables, and organic layers addressed with geotextiles, undercuts, and engineered fill — creating a stable foundation for what comes next.
06
Subgrade Preparation
Final subgrade shaping to design elevations — compacted, tested, and verified before any foundations, utilities, or paving begins. Ready for the next trade.
Why LRS
What Sets Us Apart
GPS on Every Machine
Every excavator and dozer on your site runs Trimble machine control. No guessing, no over-excavation, no rework. The 3D model guides every pass — saving time and material.
On-Site Crushing
Hit rock? Don’t haul it off — crush it on-site with our Rubble Master RM100GO. Recycled aggregate reduces material costs and earns LEED credits on qualifying projects.
Own Fleet, Own Crews
We don’t rent equipment or hire temp operators. Our machines and our people — trained on GPS, experienced in Central NY conditions, and accountable to one team.
Earthwork Balancing
Our pre-construction team optimizes cut/fill quantities before we break ground — minimizing haul distances, reducing truck traffic, and keeping costs predictable.

Technology
Iron That Moves Smart
Our site prep fleet runs on GPS machine control — every blade, bucket, and track guided by the same 3D model your engineers designed. No stakes to knock over, no guesswork between cuts.
