Overview

Keep Your Site Compliant & Clean

Erosion control isn’t optional — it’s required by law and enforced by NYSDEC. Violations mean stop-work orders, fines up to $37,500 per day, and project delays that cost far more than prevention.
LRS installs, inspects, and maintains all required SWPPP (Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan) best management practices from day one. We don’t treat erosion control as an afterthought — it’s integrated into our site work plan before the first machine rolls.
Our crews understand the regulatory landscape and build erosion measures that actually work in Central New York’s challenging weather conditions — heavy rain, spring thaw, and clay soils.
How It Works

Our Erosion Control Process

From SWPPP planning through final stabilization, every phase is covered.
01

SWPPP Review & Planning

We review your Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan and develop an installation sequence that integrates with the construction schedule — BMPs go in before disturbance begins.
02

BMP Installation

Silt fence, construction entrances, sediment basins, check dams, inlet protection, and temporary seeding — installed correctly the first time using GPS-guided placement.
03

Perimeter Controls

We establish perimeter controls around the entire disturbed area — preventing sediment from leaving the site and protecting adjacent properties, waterways, and storm systems.
04

Weekly Inspections

Regular inspections after every rain event and at least weekly — documenting conditions, repairs, and compliance status as required by your SWPPP and NYSDEC permits.
05

Maintenance & Repair

BMPs get damaged during construction — that’s normal. We repair and replace silt fence, clean sediment basins, and maintain construction entrances throughout the project.
06

Final Stabilization

Permanent seeding, mulching, and final grading to achieve site stabilization — the last step before your SWPPP can be terminated and the NOT filed with NYSDEC.
Why LRS

What Sets Us Apart

Zero Stop-Work Orders

Our proactive approach to erosion control means we’ve never had a stop-work order due to erosion or stormwater violations on any LRS-managed project.

Integrated with Site Work

Because we handle both the earthwork and the erosion control, BMPs move with the work — not lagging behind. No coordination gaps between the grading crew and the erosion crew.

Central NY Soil Expertise

Clay soils, steep slopes, and unpredictable weather — we know what works in this region because we’ve been building here for 50+ years. Generic erosion plans don’t cut it here.

Documentation & Compliance

Full inspection reports, photo documentation, and compliance records. When NYSDEC shows up, your paperwork is ready — because we’ve been maintaining it all along.
Technology

BMPs That Actually Work

We use proven erosion control methods backed by proper installation technique and ongoing maintenance — not just checking boxes on a compliance form.
Heavy-duty silt fence with proper trenching
Stabilized construction entrances (stone pad + geotextile)
Sediment basins and sediment traps
Check dams and inlet protection
Temporary and permanent seeding with erosion blankets
