Project Overview

Community-Driven Athletic Transformation

The Lansing Central School District invested ~$17 million in the BOBCAT project to modernize facilities. The athletic portion (~$6.6M) transformed Sobus Field with a new synthetic turf surface, updated track, improved parking, new lighting, and supporting infrastructure. Approved by voters January 2023 by a single vote after a larger version failed in 2022. Turf installation completed July 2025.
LRS provided critical surface site preparation, stripping & grading, utilities installation, drainage systems, and stormwater basin construction below the field.
